Spiders performing Cirque Du Soleil
October 30, 2007

I visited Starnes Island last Friday, arriving just before sunset and staying a few hours after dark. Storms have destroyed most of the web, so I focused on photographing the spiders. I finally sorted through the photos today, and I discovered this shot:

Spiders performing Cirque Du Soleil

It reminds me of a scene from Cirque Du Soleil. Can’t you imagine being in a trance of spectacular music, watching these spiders dance gracefully through the air?

Notice the small pellets of organic matter in the web. What’s that about? I’ll show you more of this in my next post.
